Head Coach Charley Washburn began shooting archery at the age of 8 and began competing in the early 1960s.  He has taken several species of small and big game animals including Elk and deer.  Charley has belonged to 5 archery clubs and was instrumental in starting the archery program at the Nevada County Sportsmen Club.  He has served as President, Secretary and Legislative Coordinator and is a life member of the Nevada County Sportsmen’s Club. 

 

      Having won over 50 State, National, World and Sectional Archery Championships, Charley currently holds seven California state records, three US national records and one world record.  Charley is a Level 4 NAA Archery Instructor, a certified NFAA Archery Instructor, a certified IBEF Bowhunter Education Instructor and a certified 4-H archery instructor.  Charley is the head coach of the Nevada County Gold JOAD archery team.
